Weekly Lessons

Because a large part of Paterson's Karate Works curriculum involves character development, each month a new lesson plan is presented to the students. These lesson plans stress a different life skill that benefit all, the student, the parent and the family unit. Ask your instructor if you can see his monthly lesson plan. Illustrated below is a typical lesson plan.

Set Up

1. What Do You Need to Set Up?: How about 'Life'. How about your health for the future? Set up your day, week, event, holiday, Mother's Day. When you are involved in Setting Up you take 'control'.

2. Proper Set Up Means trying To Tell The Future: One thing leads to another… so do you understand the impact of your first step and how it alters your second step?

3. Always Set Up For The Unknown: The best laid plans… . Realize that unknown things will happen, don't worry, this part is beyond your control. Your attitude about it is within your control.

4. Set Up and Sit Back: The better your setup, the easier your goal, work, event happens. Don't try to setup (ready time) during the event (happen time).
